Instrument Rating

Maybe you want to take a trip involving flight into the clouds, or perhaps you just want to make your flying skills much more precise and refined. The Instrument Rating training is your solution! Summit Aviation’s Instrument Rating Course is designed to provide ground and flight training necessary to successfully complete the FAA required knowledge and skill tests for an Instrument Rating. With the concurrent use of aircraft and our FAA approved simulator, we can assure that you will succeed in gaining the skills required to fly more precise.

Eligibility Requirements for Instrument Rating

  • Private Pilot Certificate
  • Completed Ground Instruction Course
  • Passing score on FAA written exam
  • Meet Aeronautical Experience Requirements
  • Cross-Country flight hours PIC with a minimum of 10 hours in an Airplane

Minimum Requirements

In the Air

40 Hours Instrument Experience
15 hours Minimum Airplane Dual
Max of 20 hours Simulator Dual
50 Hours PIC Cross-Country

On the Ground

Required Ground Instruction
Books and Supplies

Other Requirements

Medical Certificate
FAA Flight Exam
